Red Flag Warnings
At the request of local fire and rescue agencies, and for the safety of our visitors, the Reserve will be closed in the event that a Red Flag Warning is declared.
During Red Flag Warnings—which signal weather that can result in extreme fire behavior—fire, police, and rescue resources have the potential to be taxed to their limit. If a rescue situation arose while a Red Flag Warning was in effect, the resources may not be available to continue fighting fires and perform a technical rescue in the Reserve.
Additionally, the Reserve is in an extreme fire risk area, and during Red Flag Warnings minimizes the possibility of a fire starting inside the Reserve.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during these closures, and we hope they are kept to a minimum.
