Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve’s Annual Amateur Photo Contest 

Olivenhain Municipal Water District and its partner, Escondido Creek Conservancy, launched our Nineteenth Annual Amateur Photo Contest on November 22, 2025. EFRR offers wonderful photography opportunities for photographers of all skill levels. Over the years, contest submissions have highlighted EFRR’s plants, wildlife, and landscapes.

The April 26, 2026 contest deadline has passed.

Winners will be selected from the categories of Water Scenery, Scenic View, Plants, Animals, Youth Photographer (age 15 and under), and People’s Choice; photos will also be selected for the coveted Best in Show award.

Winning photographers will be recognized at OMWD’s June 17, 2026 Board of Directors meeting, and are eligible for prizes from our sponsors, including Escondido Creek Conservancy, San Diego Zoo, and California Wolf Center passes, gear from REI, and a 24″ x 36″ canvas print from PC Photo! Select winning submissions will be displayed at the Elfin Forest Interpretive Center Honoring Susan J. Varty from July through December 2026.
