What might an oak tree say to us, if we would listen? Find out in this enchanting musical journey consisting of gentle vocal harmonies accompanied by classical guitar and flutes featuring husband-and-wife musical duo Dryad (docents Jon & Sabina Kurz-Sherman). “With seamless vocal harmony, classical guitar resonance and the primal song of flutes hand-crafted from tree branches, Dryad takes you on an enchanting musical journey home to your oneness with nature. Blending Jon Sherman’s decades-long experience as an eco-musician and branch flute maker with Dr. Sabina Kurz-Sherman’s twenty years as a science educator, Dryad weaves the natural wonders and ecological concerns of the California oak woodland—the adopted muse behind their music —into their program. Introductions to each of their original eco-centric songs are presented as a captivating, educational dialogue between Jon and a charming dryad, who sings and speaks (with artistic license) through Sabina. As a symbiosis of music, theater, art, science and spirit, Dryad is a visionary expression of nature interpretation.”
